According to reports coming out of Ireland, Coventry City will pay Bohemians €90,000 as part of the deal for to bring Gary Deegan to Coventry City.

The clubs have agreed a compensation package for the out of contract 22 year old midfielder who will sign for the Sky Blues on Monday January 4th.

This includes a €90,000 up front fee with more payments depending on appearances, international call ups and City being promoted.

Bohemians will also get 15% of any future transfers but there has been no mention of a friendly.

Speaking to the Herald, Bohs Boss Pat Fenlon said about Deegan, who missed 14 games last season due to injury and suspension: "I think he is going over at the right age and the right stage of his career. He's 22 now, he's won two league titles with us and played in Europe, so he has come up in stages and done well each time he has stepped up.

"If Gary had gone over to England two or three years ago, I'm not sure how well he would have done, but he's at the ideal age now. And I don't think he will be left hanging around, I can see him going straight into the first team squad over there and maybe straight into the team. Coventry aren't signing a player of Gary's quality to keep him in the reserves for a year.

"He will be playing with very good players over there, he will be testing himself against very good opposition in front of big crowds, so I think that will see him raise his game even more,"
