22nd Place For City

Coventry City are now 22nd in the Championship table after their 1-0 victory over a Barnsley side which has not won in Coventry since 1923.

Clive Platt's stoppage time goal, moved City up a place and three points behind Bristol City for whom former City loanee Jon Stead scored in a 3-1 home defeat to Blackpool.

Doncaster stay bottom and three points behind City after being held 1-1 by 18th placed Peterborough who snatched a point with a 93rd minute goal.

Portsmouth are second bottom after a 0-0 home draw with Leeds United.

Nottingham Forest moved up to 20th with a 2-1 win at Birmingham City whilst Millwall picked up a valuable three points with a 3-1 win at Burnley.

At the other end of the table, Southampton went back top with a 3-0 win at Watford whilst West Ham drew 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace.

Reading went third with a 2-0 win at Middlesbrough whilst Brighton moved up to seventh with a 3-0 win over Ipswich.
