10 Years Of No Joy

Last updated : 10 December 2017 By THE JHW

Dear Joy,

It’s been 10 years since you and your wretched company, Sisu Capital, entered our lives.

Any illusion that your attentions would re-invigorate our true love, Coventry City Football Club, has long since turned into a nightmare.

For each one of those years, here are just 10 of the indignities suffered by Coventry City and its supporters in that abysmal Decade of Decline:

Administration

Battered in Court

Evicted and Exiled

Failed Managers

Fisher the Fool

Points Deductions

Relegated Twice

Star Players Sold

Transfer Embargo

12,000 Lost Fans

… and so many more!

There is no future in this relationship and we beg you to accept that fact. Move on and let Coventry City heal the wounds inflicted by your neglect, in the hands of people who genuinely love the club.

You have been offered a more than generous financial settlement, do not let avarice and bitterness delay your departure any longer.

Please Joy …… let us have a divorce!

From all of us at The Jimmy Hill Way

The foregoing graphic and message have been sent to Joy Seppala, head of Sisu Capital, in the form of a greetings card to mark the 10th anniversary of the takeover of Coventry City Football Club.

On Saturday 16th December, prior to the next home game against Cheltenham, representatives of the Jimmy Hill Way Campaign will gather at Dhillons Brewery, Unit 14a, Hales Industrial Estate, Rowley's Green Ln, Coventry CV6 6AL. There we will drink a toast to happier times in the past and we hope, in the future of our club, once the blight of Sisu has departed.

Several of us will be dressed in our Commemorative T-Shirt that incorporates the “Ten Years of Joy 2007-2017” logo and there are still a few units of this limited edition garment available for sale on the day.

At about 2pm we will walk up to Jimmy Hill’s Statue outside the Ricoh for a short vigil, before those who wish to go to the match leave us to take their seats.

Any Coventry City Supporter who wishes to join us indignified and lawfulobservance of this sad anniversary will be very welcome.
