Not having won in eight matches, Coventry City face a daunting task as they set off up the M6 for the second time in four days. Wigan are top of the league, unbeaten in their last four games and have only conceded three goals at the JJB Stadium his season.

Peter Reid will have Louis Carey available after the defender recovered from a back injury and will also be to use the services of Scott Shearer should he need to. The Scot has recovered from a back strain which saw him miss the reserves defeat against Spurs.

Gary McSheffrey will also be added to the squad after returning from Luton on loan and playing well for the reserves.

Wigan manager Paul Jewell is looking forward to renewing old acquaintances with Peter Reid and said: "I've known Reidy a long time, he's one of the few managers who I'm bigger than! "I know for a fact he'll have his team fired up.
"I'm looking forward to a good game and it's another big match for us but whatever happens we'll have a drink together afterwards."

Jewell has delayed naming a squad due to injuries. Talented midfielder Jimmy Bullard who scored in Wigan’s midweek win against Crewe has a groin injury whilst Emerson Thome and Lee McCulloch have also been treated for slight hamstring injuries.

Tickets are available priced at £17 for adults and £12. City fans are housed in East Stand and seating is unreserved.
