RUGBY TOWN WHO ARE THEY?
Founded in 1955 as Valley Sports by Keith Coughlan. The name was taken from the local name for New Bilton, “Happy Valley. In 1973, VS moved to Butlin Road and in the same year Rugby Town folded after 15 seasons in the Southern League. Valley Sports became the senior club for the town, and abbreviated their name to VS Rugby. 1982/83 was a good season for VS as they won the FA Vase at Wembley and were promoted to the Southern League where they currently play in the Premier Division. After surviving liquidation, they teamed up with Midland Combination side Rugby Town to form Rugby United. This lasted for a couple of seasons until a decision was made to take the name Rugby Town.
Butlin Road hosted City Reserve team home league matches last season.

HOW TO GET THERE
Exit the M6, Junction 1 (or M1, Junction 19), and follow signs towards Rugby (first exit on the roundabout). Then go straight over the next two roundabouts until you come to a main ‘Mr Kipling' Roundabout.
Take the first exit on the roundabout, which follows downhill to a mini-roundabout, where you should carry straight on. You should come past housing on both sides of the road before a large field, however, you should continue along this road (Boughton Road/Butlers Leap) until you come to its end at a T-Junction.

Turn right here, and continue up the hill past the golf course on the left and take the second left turning, which is at a mini roundabout (Butlin Road). Carry on down here until you come to cemetery gates when you should take a left turn at the top of the road and then a quick right, but the ground will be in view already.
