Sky Blues On The Road - Crewe Alexandra

Last updated : 06 May 2005 By Covsupport

With safety already assured after that stunning 6-2 victory over Derby County last Saturday, the Sky Blues head up the M6 to face Crewe Alexandra in the last Championship game of the season, (kick off is at 1pm).

Micky Adams, who like his predecessors will have to work with a fresh air budget next season, has spent the week, sorting out who he wants and does not want at the club next season term.

He will make a late decision on the fitness of Marcus Hall who has not trained all week but will have Adie Williams available just in case. The rest of the squad who featured in the last ever league game at Highfield Road should all be available.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi knows that only a win will do for his side in order to keep them in the division, but he won’t be counting on any favours from Micky Adams who has publically nailed his colours to the masts of former clubs Brighton and Gillingham. The longest serving manager in the division told This Is Staffordshire: "Of course while Micky Adams might make some changes and put some squad players in he wants to play, he won't make it easy for us because he wouldn't show that sort of disrespect to Mark McGhee. And I wouldn't expect anybody to show that disrespect to me either."

Alex go into the game not having won in 19 matches in fact their last win as at Leeds United on New Year’s Day. Steve Jones could come back in attack after a hamstring injury and Justine Cochrane may also get a recall. Anthony Tonkin will come back in the back four for the Railwaymen after recovering from illness and Northern Irish international Colin Murdock could get a run-out if he goes ok in a training session today.

All the tickets in the sections for visitors have been sold (if you have a spare please let us know).
