Sent To Coventry - Rotherham United

Last updated : 17 September 2004 By Covsupport
Coventry City take on Rotherham United in a Championship game at Highfield Road tomorrow at 3pm.

In the first of a Yorkshire trilogy, the Millers arrive in Cov not having won a league match so far and only having scored twice in eight league games.

Now, many might go for this as a home banker but Sky Blue slip-ups against teams bottom of the table and struggling are legendary (Carlisle and Stoke City are just two examples) and Peter Reid will want to avoid this.

The Millers earned a 1-1 draw at Highfield Road last season in a game which ruled City out of the play-off places and effectively cost Eric Black his job. In the twelve matches played at Highfield Road, Rotherham have won twice and drawn three times although they have not won in any of their last six visits.

Reid is expected to keep faith with the side that conceded two late goals to draw with Gillingham with his only doubt being Neil Wood who has a hamstring strain.

Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore who watched a number of City Reserve matches last season, is likely to include Michael Proctor who scored twice in a Millers midweek reserve game against Stoke City.

Also likely to make the game is Richie Barker who was stretchered off in the game with West Ham. A serious injury was fears but it turned out to be a compressed nerve.

Tickets are available for the game which kicks off at 3pm.

There is a friendly game at Westwood Heath campus between the Internet Sky blue Army and Internet Millers which kicks off at 10.30am.

City U18's are in action at Ryton against Chelsea as are the newly formed U16's who also play the West Londoners.

On Sunday,Coventry City Ladies travel to bottom side Middlesbrough in a WPL Northern Division fixture. Both sides are without a victory after the Sky Blues let a 2-1 lead against Aston Villa slip last night. The game kicks off at Billingham Syphonia at 2pm.

Coventry City Ladies Reserves are also in action, travelling to Ashton in Mnachester to play Oldham Curzon. Kick off at the East Cheshire Harriers Stadium is also at 2pm.

As usual,Coventry City Mad will have full reports
