Sent To Coventry - Sheffield Wednesday

Part two of the South Yorkshire trilogy sees Sheffield Wednesday visit Highfield Road in a Carling Cup Second Round tie tonight.

Peter Reid will be keen to get back to winning ways after a defeat at Leeds followed by home draws against Gillingham and Rotherham and avoid an embarrassing exit likes the ones Ipswich and West Brom had last night.

The Coventry boss will need to reshuffle his defence if Southampton have not given clearance for Matthew Mills who made his debut a few hours after signing on Saturday. Andy Whing may be brought in with Louis Carey switching to centre back.

Midfielder Neil Wood remains the only other doubt with Stephen Hughes being definitely out after picking up heaving bruising against Rotherham. Reid is expected to rest Tim Sherwood and switch to a 4-4-2 formation.

For the visitors, life at the moment is certainly unsettled. Manager Chris Turner was sacked on Saturday following the Owls 1-0 defeat by AFC Bournemouth. Paul Sturrock is the current favourite to replace him. Wednesday have put youth team manager Mark Smith in charge and he will be assisted by former Sky Blue Chris Marsden who joined the Owls after a spell in South Korea.

Marsden is likely to play at Highfield Road where he was seen as popular by City supporters during his brief spell here. Wednesday could be without three defenders as Richard Wood has a toe problem, Guy Branston has pulled a calf muscle and Chris Carr has tendonitis. They also have Paul Heckingbottom, Matt Hamshaw and Graeme Lee out injured.

Owls youngster Ross Greenwood could make his debut as cover for one of the aforementioned defenders.

Tickets are available on the turnstiles at £10 adults and £5 concessions and kick off is at 7.45pm. There will be a minute's silence to remember Brian Clough who passed away on Monday.
