City Reserves At Southampton Preview

Coventry City Reserves head for the South Coast tonight to play Southampton in an FA Premier Reserve League South game at 7pm.

With no fixture for the Sky Blues first team this weekend, Alan Cork have a choice of players to pick from for the game at Southampton’s Staplewood training complex in Fawley.

Having released Bas Savage and Youseff Sofiane, Cork will have to make changes from the side that beat Chelsea 3-1 at the Arena on October 19th.

Andy Morrell could be given a start alongside Craig Reid who scored City’s goal in the friendly against Crewe last Wednesday at Ryton. With Clayton Ince called up for World Cup duty with Trinidad & Tobago, Jonny Tuffey will be in goal for the Sky Blues.

Southampton boss Sir Clive Woodward has named Marian Pahars and Brett Ormerod in a mixed team. Alos featuring will be Leandre Griffit who caused City so many problems last May in the corresponding fixture which the Saints won 3-1.

Southampton like ninth in the table with City tenth. Both sides have ten points from their eight games.

Admission is free although children must be accompanied by an adult.

M40,A34,M33 to M27. Leave at Junction 2 and follow the signs for Fawley A326. Go straight over the next four mini-roundabouts. After the last section of dual carriageway,take the first turning on the left into Staplewood Lane and then right into Long Lane. Entrance to the training ground is on the right.
