Alan Cork will be looking to build on the home victory over Arsenal with another good performance at Charlton Athletic.
With the first team travelling to Millwall on Tuesday night, Cork will have to field a weaker side than he did last week.
Craig Reid is expected to regain a place in the starting line-up replacing Graham Barrett who came on as a 60th minute substitute against Cardiff City on Saturday.
Andy Whing is likely to be on first team duty and Andy Hall who turned out as a substitute for the Academy in a 3-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons will deputise. Andy Morrell and possibly Isaac Osbourne may also be on first team duty.
One player definitely getting a game will be centre half Mark Howard. The trialist from Manchester United will play his second of two permissible games for City Reserves before Adams, Cork and co have to make a decision on whether to offer him a permanent deal. Howard is likely to partner Sean Cooney who was stretchered off in the corresponding fixture last season at the back.
Charlton, whose late decision to switch this game from the Valley to Welling United’s Park View Road ground has not been well received, top the FA Premier Reserve League South table. With two games in four days, Addicks boss Glyn Snodin does not field too strong a side, although he does have Kevin Lisbie back from an injury which has seen him play fourteen times in fifteen months.
The Charlton side is: Andersen, Cotrell, Gross, Fuller, L Wilson, Ricketts, John, Long, Varney, Lisbie, Weston. Subs: Ashton, Randolph, Walker, Phillips, Carvill.
Action kicks off at Park View Road at 7pm

BY ROAD
If you are travelling from anywhere other than Kent, take the M25 to J2. At the roundabout, take the A2 towards Central London. Leave the A2 at the third exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup). At the end of the slip road turn right (second exit) at the roundabout, and then turn right (third exit) at the next roundabout. Go under the A2 bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left.
In the months leading up to Christmas the M25/A2 junction can become very blocked up and you are advised to take an alternative route: If you are travelling clockwise round the M25, leave at J1A, straight after the Dartford River Crossing. Turn left at the roundabout and go back across the M25. Go straight across the next roundabout into University Way, with a Holiday Inn on your left. Go straight across at the next two roundabouts and turn right at the third, into Thames Road. Go under the railway bridge and turn left into Crayford Way at the traffic lights. Follow this to the end and turn left at the traffic lights, getting over to the right before the next set where you need to turn right, into Roman Way. Go past the Sainsburys/Homebase complex and at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto London Road. Take the first left into Bourne Road, follow this to the end and at the roundabout take the first exit, over the A2. At the roundabout turn right, onto the A2 towards London. Leave the A2 at the next exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup).
If you are travelling anti-clockwise around the M25 leave at J3 (M20 & A20) and take the A20 towards London. Leave the A20 at the second exit, signposted Sidcup and turn right at the roundabout towards Sidcup. Follow this road to the traffic lights with the Police Station on the corner and go straight across, into Station Road. At the next set of traffic lights go straight across, under the railway bridge and at the next set of lights turn right into Hurst Road. At the roundabout turn left into Penhill Road (A221). At the next roundabout go straight across, under the A2 bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left.
There is no car park, but plenty of street parking is available.
BY RAIL
The nearest station is Welling. Off-peak trains leave half hourly from both London Victoria and London Charing Cross (also calling at Waterloo East and London Bridge). From the station, go down the slope to the road at the bottom. Turn left and go to the end of the road. Turn left onto Bellegrove Road. This becomes Welling High Street and then Park View Road. The ground is on the right just after the Guy, Earl of Warwick pub; 10-15 minutes walk. If you wish to go by bus, numbers 89, 486 and B16 run past the ground from the station.
