The students got to play the sci-fi sounding Theremin, and made some music of their own with guitars, maracas and the drum kit. They split into three teams, so whilst one team was making music, another was dressing up in shades and pork pie hats, learning about 2-Tone and the fact it all began in Coventry. Meanwhile, over in team three, colouring in and badge and poster designs was the order of the day.
The superb visit was ended with all the pupils getting onstage, to give a rousing acapella version of Ghost town with superb two-part-harmonies. Museum Director Curator, Pete Chambers said, "Ghost Town, is not an easy song to song, especially without music. They were amazing children, and forward thinking teaching staff, I'm so chuffed that 2-Tone history is being taught in our schools. It's message of unity, and racial tolerance is so powerful, especially when you think that it came from Coventry. We really hope to have more schools to the museum in the near future, especially when our new sound studio is created".
