Out To Lanch Exhibition Opens

An exhibtion enttitled "Out To Lanch" opened tonight at 2-Tone Central at Coventry University.

The free exhibtion, put together by Pete and Julie Chambers, focuses on the many bands who played "The Lanch" and includes the likes of Mott The Hoople, Elton John, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Specials, Selector right up to The Smiths and Oasis as well as features such as the Covaid, the legendary King and Sigue Sigue Sputnik gigs plus the famous Lanch art festivals.

The launch of the Exhibition was attended by most of the Selecter whose 1979 gig is featured with a rare collection of photographs from local music (and Coventry City supporting wedding) photographer John Coles (pictured below)

Amongst the local celebrities tonight were Pauline Black, Neol Davis,Gaps,H and Charley Anderson-(Selecter), Pete Chambers,Brody Swain, Ray King,Jimmy Jimmy and DJ -(new singer ), Roger Lomas and Bob Jackson-(Indiann Summer)

If you ever went to a gig down The Lanch or were at Uni there, then this is an exhibition, you will not want to miss.

2-Tone Central has also launched a guidebook to its 2-Tone Central Museum. Priced at £5, this full colour guide gives you plenty of information about the museum and the 2-Tone Trial. The guidebook is on sale at the museum.
