Katusha's Ilnur Zakarin  has won stage six of the Paris-Nice race.

Stage six saw the riders finally in Nice, but with two more stages to complete.  The first was a 177km stage from Nice to La Madone d’Utelle.

When the last of the breakers caught Antoine Duschene on the last climb - the Category One La Madone d'Utelle, there was a group of thirty riders left.

Ilnur Zakarin, Geraint Thomas, Alberto Contador and BMC's Richie Porte battled it out.

They were all together going under the flam rouge and Zakarin was able to out pace Geraint Thomas and Alberto Contador take the win.

The second place means that Thomas leads the race by fifteen seconds from Contador going into the final stage.
