Wickets Tumble At Trent Bridge

The wickets tumbled on the second day of Warwickshire County Cricket Club's County Championship game against Nottinghamshire.

At Trent Bridge, Nottingham resumed on 43-6 and although Samit Patel who top scored with 54 and Chris Read who made 27, put on 72 for the seventh wicket, the tail enders were mopped up and Notts were all out, one run after Patal was out for 116.

Warwicks were now 147 runs ahead and this lead keep Warwicks in the match as when they batted, Varun Chopra was out without a run being scored.

Warwicks offered little resistance against Sidle, Fletcher, Gurney and Carter with only Porterfield, Evans, Ambrose who top scored with 29, Barker, Patal and Hannon-Dalby making it into double figures and they were all out for 152, leaving Nottinghamshire three hundred to win.

There were wickets for Barker, Patal and Chris Wright who had Phil Jaques who was on 64 caught by Tim Ambrose as Notts closed on 126-3 needing 174 runs to win in two days.
