Warwickshire made a big score in their Twenty/20 game against Lancashire at Edgbaston but it was all in vain, as the match was abandoned.

At Edgbaston, Warwicks were put into bat and got off to a good start with Jon Trott and Neil Carter opening the batting.

On the last ball of the fifth over, Carter was caught by Moore for 39 to see Warwicks on 54-1. Ian Bell came in to hit a four and a six but could not continue with his previous innings of 66 and 85 and was out for 13.

Jim Troughton and Jon Trott then put on 54 for the third wicket which came when Trott was out for 42 to give Moore a second catch.

Darren Maddy had been dropped down the order and was out for a single, followed by Rikki Barker, losing his wicket without scoring and Ian Westwood batting at number seven who was out after only making four runs.

Chris Woakes added fourteen runs before Jim Troughton was finally out after making 66 when he was run out by Cross in the final ball off the innings.

Warwicks had made 196-8 but after restricting Lancs to three runs in their first over, rain stopped play and the match had to be abandoned.
