Warwickshire County Cricket Club had their T20 game with Yorkshire abandoned due to rain

This evening at Edgbaston, Warwicks batted first with Jon Trott and Neil Carter opening the batting.

Trott, who had been left out of the England T20 team to face Sri Lanka, made a single but as he went for a second, he was run out.

Carter and Will Porterfield put on 52 before Carter who had hit 25 including a six and three fours was bowled by Azeem Rafiq.

Darren Maddy went for nine before Porterfield finally went for 34 caught by Azeem Rafiq and Rikki Clarke was out for eight.

Jim Troughton was batting well despite the rain which saw the umpires Messrs Evans and O'Shaugnessy consulting but opting to carry on with Warwicks on 133-5 after 17 overs.

Jim Troughton hit another four in the next over to take his total to 49 before the umpires took the players off due to the heavy rain with Warwicks on 138-5.

The rain didn't stop and the umpires took the decision to abandon the game and award each side a point.
