Warwickshire County Cricket Club missed out on the County Championship title by failing to beat Hampshire on the final day of their County Championship game at The Rose Bowl.

Having already relegated Hampshire yesterday, Warwicks needed to bowl them and win to take the title but resuming on 43-3, Hants batted all day with Michael Carberry making 111 and Neil McKenzie an unbeaten 115.

Chris Metters took a five wicket haul but Hampshire had batted on to 327-7 when the match was declared a draw and hopes of the Division One Championship ended.
