Warwickshire Lose Barbados T20 Final

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by Yorkshire.

In the final of the The Banks Barbados T20 Cup and Plate, Yorkshire batted first and hit 19 runs off the first two overs.

The run rate slowed a bit but at the half way stage, Yorks were 97 without loss.

Gale was the first player to lose his wicket for 41 and was soon followed by Sayers who had made 54.

Bairstow went for nine, Ballance for three as Yorkshire went to 127-4 after 14 overs. 

McGrath and Root came to the crease and they moved the total on to 172-4 after their twenty overs.

Darren Maddy and Varun Chopra opened for Warwicks who kept the same team which had beaten Leicestershire.

The pair last until the fourth over when Chopra was bowled and an over later, Maddy was caught at deep square by Rashid off the bowling of Shahzad and Warwicks were 27-2 from five overs.

Jim Troughton hit a six but he was caught and bowled by Rashid who struck again to remove Rikki Clarke and leave Warwicks 50-4 at the half way stage.

With three overs to go and three wickets left, Warwicks needed 66 to win but they could not do it, reaching 128-7 and went down to 44 run defeat.
