It rains, and when it rains strange results occur with teams batting second getting winning draws so this weeks result will at times look a bit strange . The Premier league table is starting to take shape although his week the weather did have a lot to say in many matches. Matches at Fillongley, Handsworth, Highway and Nuneaton all started but were abandoned with no results achieved , whilst in the other two matches, at Kenilworth and Rugby results were achieved, with winning draws for Bablake at Kenilworth and for Rugby at home to Bedworth. Handsworth went top because of the 8 wickets they took on the day, 3 bonus points whereas Coleshill had to settle for 4 points in a match that never really got going. Newly promoted Rugby made the biggest move of the day gaining 17 points and batting the whole of their 50 overs to reach 243 for 9, Mackenzie wand Edwards putting on 105 for the second wicket. The visitors received 38 overs and with a revised target of 185 for the winning draw struggled at the start losing the first 4 for 34 Dangerembizi and Jakeman got them out of jail with 67 run partnership. The Visitors however never quite had their target in sight and closed on 148 for 8. Around the league there was a best of the season so far bolwing performance from M Orsler oe Solihull Municipal 3rds with 8 for 22. Needless to say Solihull won this one as the visitors crashed to 40 all out. This was not the lowest score of the day however with Bablake 4ths 26 all out against Walmley 5ths. Also in the Single Team Premier Like Russell led his Attlebourgh team from the front making 130 of the 213 needed to beat Wilclare. Wilclare CC should be congratulated for getting this game on, as dreadful conditions rained off many matches in the near vicinity. A combination of getting the covers on and off and a little luck in missing the major downpours saw the home side making 212 in 45 overs. With 7 overs loss in 3 interruptions, Attlebourgh had only 38 overs to bat and after a slow start a draw at best seemed all they could hope for. However a combination of big hitting from Russell and the bowling running out of steam in at times artic conditions saw Attlebourgh home in a canter. Small Heath Baptist Church who share the Wilclare ground were also major beneficiaries, when they knock off the 160 needed to beat Thimblemill and with 2 wins from 2 top the premier division of the 3rd XI and Single Team competition
