Early days yet and the first weekend when an extensive program survived the wettest start to a season for many years, saw Kings Heath on top of the pile despite not having won a match !. Their 2 winning draws including the one today away at Kenilworth. Shepherd 79 led the as the visitors amassed 222 for 7 in one of the 4 Premier division matches which took place, bad weather oin Thursday and Friday raining off the matches at Bedworth and Solihull Blossomfield.

The two relegated clubs Handsworth and Sutton Coldfield both made it 1 for 1 played as the frustrating start to the season came to an end fo0r many clubs. Handsworth , Dwaine Crossling 7 For 41 , against newly prompted Four Oaks Saints helping them to joint second, whilst Sutton Coldfield somehow defended 76 all out to win by 6 runs against Oton and West Warks. Vyakaramam 8 For 31 for the visitors still ended up on the losing side

Rugby look potentially a strong side in Division 1 with a few new players and one of these Owen Edwards 5 For 12 helped his new side to a second successive win over Pak Shaheen. Castle Bromwich in division 2 also maintained the only 100% win record once again with thanks to their bowlers. Yet to score more than 150m this season, led by V Manders, 8 for 22 they defended 141 all out for another 24 points.

First cricket of the season again for some in the new 3rd XI and Single Team league although3 weeks of rain relented a little too late for several grounds to dry out and be prepared. Small Heath BC are the early leaders despite being on the wrong end of a draw with Walsall WMF. WMF made a quick fire 204 at nearly 6 runs an over, but were all out in 35. Small Heath BC batting at a more sedate pace have 54 overs to make their target reached 172 for 8, hanging on at the end. Good points for both clubs in this one and the 12 point losing draw take Small Heath BC top, with Walsall WMF 4th. Attock lead the chasing pack with Nissar 5 for 24, as the beat local rivals Sutton Coldfield by 70 runs. Old Eds may swift work of defeating Highway in a low scoring match typical of many these first 3 weeks (wet wickets, long outfields etc), needing 7 wickets to knock off 52 posted by their hosts
