Warwickshire Beaten By Leicestershire

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by 32 runs against Leicestershire tonight at Edgbaston.

Leicestershire batted first in the televised Twenty/20 match and were allowed to find runs easily and made 172-6 in their twenty overs with Jefferson and Hodge both making half centuries.

Jon Trott and Neil Carter opened the batting for Warwickshire. The third umpire was called for at the end of the first over when Jon Trott hit a shot which Taylor caught. After a delay, he was given out after only making five runs.

it got worse in the third over when Neil Carter was run out by Boyce who, an over later ran out Jim Troughton to leave Warwicks on 19-3.

Things didn't improve and Darren Maddy was caught for 20 from 13 balls and Rikki Clarke was lbw. Ambrose became Boyce third's victim and Ant Botha who made 21 was caught to see Warwicks on 79-7 needing 94 from 53 balls.

Chris Woakes tried to rally thr team but a Henderson ball clipped the bail and he was out for 15. The next ball, saw Ian Westwood, who had made 23 to become Henderson's third wicket from 11 balls.

That left Warwicks on 108-9. Keith Barker made 23 from nine balls but Imran Tahir was caught on the boundary to give Leicestershire a win by 32 runs.
