Warwickshire Beat Sussex Again

Warwickshire County Cricket Club recorded their second County Championship victory against Sussex in the month of July with an innings and 43 run victory this afternoon.

Sussex resumed on 71-2 but Jeetan Petal was in the mood for wickets and had Goodwin caught after making three runs.

Chris Woakes struck to remove Ed Joyce who had made 74 and Hodd who had made seven to see Sussex on 139-5.

Petal came back and took the wickets of Rayner, Adlkin and Navad ul Hasan whilst Michael Yardy tried in vein to keep his side in the match with an unbeaten sixty two.

Rikki Clarke had Monty Panesar caught for five and Patel took his sixth wicket of the innings and the tenth of the match when he had Jimmy Anyon trapped lbw to give Warwicks a win by an innings and 43 runs.

Warwicks now have three Pro40 games in a week starting with an away game against Surrey at Guildford tomorrow.

In the test match India were bowled out by England for 289.
