Warwicks Through To CB40 Final

Warwickshire County Cricket Club are through to the CB40 Final after a 23 run victory against Lancashire.

At Old Trafford, where Warwickshire members were allowed in free, Warwicks batted first. 

Varun Chopra was in great form and along with Will Porterfield put on 126 before the Irish international went for 67 caught by Moore.

Troughton made 11, Maddy 18, Clarke 17 and Woakes eight whilst at the other end, Chopra went on to make 110 from 124 balls including nine fours and a six before he was caught by Croft at the end of the 39th over.

Warwicks added ten runs in the final over and finished their forty overs on 250-6.

Neil Carter had both openers removed before the home side had thirty runs on the board and then Chris Wright removed Croft and Brown to reduce Lancs to 77-4.

Ian Blackwell chipped in with two wickets and when Paul Best had Shazhad caught by Blackwell, the score was 147-7.

Carter then took the wickets of Chapple and Horton who had made 78 and when Wright had Parry caught by Best, Lancs were all out for 227 and Warwicks were into the final against Hampshire who beat Sussex.
