Warwicks Small First Innings Lead Wiped Out

Warwickshire County Cricket Club took a first innings lead against Surrey on the second day of their County Championship game at the Oval.

Warwicks added 25 to their overnight total of 106-1 in reply to Surrey's 223 before Batty had Porterfield who had made 46 caught.

Gareth Batty then took the wicket of Varun Chopra who had hit ten fours in a knock of 78 either side of Stuart Meaker taking the wickets of Troughton and Maddy.

Tim Ambrose made 33 but when he was bowled by Hamilton-Brown, Warwicks were 207-6.

Only forty more runs were added and with Batty competing a five wicket haul with the wickets of Clarke, Barker and Wright, Warwicks were all out for 247 some 24 runs ahead.

In their second innings, Jason Roy made 71 as Surrey ended the day on 144-4.
