Warwicks Sign Chanderpaul

Warwickshire County Cricket Club have signed West Indian batsman  Shivnarine Chanderpaul as their overseas player for the rest of the season.

Chanderpaul has had spells with Durham and Lancashire and has played 130 Test matches and 260 one day internationals. His test average is 49.06 and he has a first class average of over 54.

Chaunderpaul will join in mid July and Ashley Giles told Edgbaston.com: “It is universally acknowledged that Shiv is a class act and has proved his worth time after time at the highest level. Not only does he possess the qualities and talents that we are looking for in abundance, but he also comes with a reputation as a hard working cricketer, a great character and a professional with a tremendous work ethic.

"We are delighted that he has agreed to join us for the vitally important final stages of our season”.
