Warwicks Set A Target

Warwickshire County Cricket Club have been set a target of 281 to win after the third day of their County Championship game with Surrey at Edgbaston.

With no play possible until 3pm, Surrey declared on 400/5 and the captains agreed on the day that Durham took over from Warwickshire as the County Champions to have a match with the 43 overs and the final day's play.

Warwicks batted and made 120 without loss with Varun Chopra, passing the 1,000 run mark for the season with an unbeaten 69 and 42 from Ian Westwood.

Warwicks declared after 22 overs and with Surrey forfeiting their innings, Warwicks were set 281 to win.

In the remaining 21 overs of the day, Warwicks lost Chopra for a duck and Westwood for 14 as they closed on 55-2, needing 226 runs to win.
