Warwicks Lose Local Derby

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by 140 runs by Worcestershire in their YB40 game at Edgbaston.

Worcestershire opener Moeen Ali made 114 with fellow opening batsman  Daryl Mitchell hitting sixty and Alexei Kervezee 58 whilst Jeetan Patal took 4-43 and Stefan Piolet took 3-73 as the visitors amassed 291-9 from their forty overs.

Warwicks struggled from the start with Porterfield out for five, Chopra for seven and Jim Troughton for five, all falling to Graeme Cessford who took 4-24.

Freddie Coleman made 23 and Laurie Evans hit an unbeaten 47 but with the rest of the team not making more than Javid's eighteen, Warwicks were all out for 151 and a heavy defeat to their local rivals.
