Warwickshire County Cricket Club went down to a nine run Yorkshire Bank 40 game at Worcestershire.

At New Road, the home side put on 95 with Moeen Ali making 56 before he was trapped lbw by Stefan Piolet.

Jeetan Patal chipped in with three wickets and Chris Wright two but with Daryl Mitchell making 71 and Aneesh Kapil hitting 42, Worcestershire made 210-9 from their forty overs.

Warwicks who gave a debut to Sam Hein, had more players make double figures than Worcestershire but it was not enough.

Ateeq Javid scored an unbeaten forty and whilst Jim Troughton added 31, Stefan Piolet 30, Rikki Clarke 24 and Varun Chopra 22, Warwicks were all out for 201 in 38.3 overs and went down to a nine run defeat.
