Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by ten wickets by Lancashire Lightening in a T20 game game at Edgbaston this afternoon.

Lancs won the toss and put Warwicks, who had lost against Worcerstershire on Friday, into bat.

It proved to be a good decision as Neil Carter went for one in the second over, followed by a ball later by Varun Chopra who had made seven.

Warwicks were on 10-2 and Will Porterfield and Darren Maddy added twenty one before the Irish international was out.

Maddy went for 16, Troughton for 11, and Clarke for 12 to give Parry three wickets as Warwicks struggled.

Ambrose, Barker and Woakes also lost their wickets cheaply as Warwicks limped past the one hundred mark in the eighteenth over.

When Stefan Piolet was caught by Smith after making twenty, Warwicks were all out for 109, their lowest ever T20 score.

Steve Moore and Tom Smith opened the batting for Lancashire and wasted no time in getting to grips with the Warwickshire bowlers.

They put on 57 runs by the end of the powerplay after six overs and by the half way mark, Lancs were 89-0.

Moore hit 52 from 38 balls including three sixes and Smith hit four sixes in an unbeaten innings of 58 to give Lancs a ten wicket victory.

Tomorrow, Warwicks are back to County Championship action with a home game against Somerset. Play is due to start at Edgbaston at 11am and commentary can be heard via the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire website.
