Jeetan Patal battled his way to an unbeaten 66 but when Fletcher had wicketkeeper Pete McKay caught after making 33 and Maurice Chambers also caught, Warwicks were all out for 298 with Fletcher having figures of 4-56 and Adams having fixtures of 4-77.

Five overs were bowled by Warwicks and they took three wickets. Keith Barker bowled Hales first ball. Then Fletcher lasted five balls scoring two runs before he was bowled by Chambers who also took the wicket of Michael Lumb when he gave Varun Chopra a catch on the first delivery he faced.
