Warwickshire County Cricket Club bowled Durham out for 287 on the opening day of their County Championship match at the Riverside Ground.

Durham won the toss and decided to bat but lost opener Mark Stoneman in only the second ball of the innings when he was caught behind by Tim Ambrose to give Keith Barker a wicket.

Sixty two runs were added by Jennings and Scott Borthwick before the latter was caught by Jim Troughton off the bowling of Rikki Clarke after making 36.

Jennings had made 33 but he became Barker's second victim when he was caught by Patal, who took the wicket of Will Smith who had made 45.

Patal had Paul Collingwood caught by Varun Chopra for a single and then Chopra caught Phil Mustard leaving Durham on 170-6.

Ben Stokes had made 61 but Patal bowled him in the 68th over. Richardson added 26 to give Clarke his third wicket and Barker took his third wicket when he bowled Wood for 22.

A fourth wicket and figures of 4-41 for Barker came when he had Rushworth caught by Tim Ambrose and Durham were all out for 267.

In reply, Warwicks closed on 31-1 with Ian Westwood out for five against being caught by Rushworth off the bowling of Onions.
