Warwickshire County Cricket Club beat Durham on the third day of their County Championship match.

With the weather a lot better than yesterday, play got underway with Warwicks on 195-7.

Rikki Barker and Ian Bell helped move the score on before Barker went for 14 caught behind by Mustard and Bell was out after pushing his score up to 120.

Jeetan Patel added an unbeaten thirty before Warwickshire were all out for 267 when Chris Wright was caught behind by Mustard to give Graham Onions his fourth wicket.

A first innings lead of 104 looked to be a total too much for Durham after Barker had removed both openers and the visitors were on 12-2.

The visitors put on 21 runs before Barker struck again to have Stokes caught by Porterfield.

Tim Ambrose running out Paul Collingwood made the score 44-4 and Maddy have Blackwell trapped lbw then left Durham on 57-5.

However, Blenkenstein and Mustard ensured that Warwicks would have to bat again, by putting on 59 for the sixth wicket which saw Mustard who had made 46 from 52 balls being caught by Troughton off the bowling of Patel.

Barker was in fine form and he had Borthwick caught by Ambrose for his fourth wicket of the innings.

Dale Benkenstein made 31 before he too was caught. This time Ian Bell made the catch off the bowling of Patel who then had Thorp caught by Jon Trott.

Barker bowled again and took the wicket of Onions to give him figures of 5-37 from 13.2 overs and see Durham all out for 139.

Warwicks were set 36 runs to win and Varun Chopra made 22 of them before he hit his own wicket. Will Porterfield made an unbeaten nine and Ian Bell four not out and with one extra, Warwicks took their third County Championship win of the season by nine wickets to stay clear at the top of the table.

Warwicks are in CB40 action on Sunday with a home game against Northamptonshire at Edgbaston.
