Vinenzo Nibali Wins The Tour Of Oman

Astana's Vincenzo Nibalia has won the Tour Of Oman.

Astana's Vincenzo Nibali, the race leader led the riders out on this final 130km stage from The Wave Muscat to Matrah Corniche.

Dan Martin, Alex Gougeard and Kurek broke early but were caught by the twelve kilometres gone mark and a new group of Minard, Muilberger, Meersman, Van Van Speybrouck, Eaton and Marycz took over before being joined by Asselman.

They were 2.15 ahead after 75kms and 1.50 ahead when Van Speybrouck took the first intermediate sprint.

Van Speybrouck took the second climb but with Katusha leading the chase, their lead stood at just forty seven seconds with twenty kilometres left.

Van Speybrouck took the second sprint but the escapers time on the front was soon over and in the bunch sprint, Alexander Kristoff took the win in 3.01.18 ahead of Zico Waytens and his Giant Alpecin team mate Soren Kragh Andersen.

Vincenzo Nibali of Astana finished safely and he won the race over all by twenty five seconds from Romain Bardet of AG2R
