Ulissi Wins Giro Stage Eleven

Lampre's Diego Ulissi has won the eleventh stage of the Giro D'Italia.

A 227km stage from Modence to Asolo saw the riders led out by new leader Bob Jungels of Etixx Quick Step.

Nine riders in Manuel Quinziato (BMC), Moreno Moser (Cannondale), Leigh Howard and Roger Kluge (IAM) Giacomo Berlato (Nippo Vini Fantini), Anton Vorobyev (Katusha), Manuele Boaro (Tinkoff), Pippo Pozzato and Eugert Zhupa (Wilier Triestina-Souheast) formed an early break, getting a minute ahead before they were all back togther with fifty kilometres raced.

Twenty kilometres later and after Tom Dumoulin had abandoned, a new break formed with Vegard Stake Laengen (IAM), Liam Bertazzo (Wilier Triestina-Southeast) and  Anton Vorobyev (Katusha) and this time it stuck with Vorobyev taking the first sprint

With 120kms left, they were ten minutes clear but 3.22 with fifty kilometres to go and only Laengen ahead with twenty kilometres left before he was caught and Steven Kruijswijk was first over the Forcella Mostaccin climb.

Andrey Amador of Movistar and Bob Jungels took over on the front and took a twelve second lead going into the final ten kilometes.

Lampre's Diego Ulissi joined them with 4.2kms left in front of big crowds but it was Jungels who led going under the flam rouge.

Diego Ulissi went and won in 4.56.32 ahead of Amador and Jungels who extends his lead in the race.
