Alex Dowsett of Movistar and Danny McLay of Fortuneo Vital Concept are the favourite's for tomorrow's time trial at the British National Championships.

The time trial organised by British cycling will be over a 46/4km/28.8 mile course in Stockton On Tees and will feature four 11.6km/7.2 mile laps for the Elite Men with three laps for the Women and U23 riders.

Alex Dowsett has four British Time Trial wins in  2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 and victory on Thursday would put him ahead of Stuart Dangerfield’s record, whilst McLay who has been in good form of late is more than capable of challenging the man from Essex, who is last down the ramp out of forty riders.

Team Wiggins’ riders Owain Doull, Steven Burke and Andy Tennant, who will be looking to compete in the Rio Olympics all could do well in this event.

Thirty three year old Emma Pooley will be expected to do well in the Women's race.

Pooley is back from injury and will test herself against Dani King MBE of Wiggle High 5, Hannah Barnes of Canyon - SRAM, Dame Sarah Storey, a holder of the British Hour Record and Molly Weaver of Liv Plantur who had a good showing in the recent Aviva Women's Tour.
