An unbeaten 53 for Jon Trott along with the same score from Andrew Strauss ensured that England beat Pakistan by nine wickets at Edgbaston this afternoon.

Pakistan were finally bowled out for 296 after only eleven balls of the morning session leaving England 118 to win.

Alistair Cook again was out very cheaply after making four runs from seven balls but Trott (53 from 101 balls and six fours) and Strauss (53 from 114 balls and 4 fours) saw England to their sixth consecutive victory and a 2-0 lead in the series against Pakistan.

Warwickshire's next match is a floodlit Pro40 game at Nottinghamshire on Thursday. Play is due to start at 4.10pm and as usual a report will appear on this site.
