Tough Day For Warwicks

Warwickshire County Cricket Club had a tough day on the opening day of their County Championship game against Middlesex.

At Edgbaston, Middlesex won the toss and decided to bat against a Warwicks side which gave a debut to Tom Alinns.

The visitors put on 85 before Chris Rogers who had made 33, was caught behind by Tim Ambrose off the bowling of Boyd Rankin.

Sam Robson and Joe Denly added another 95 for the second wicket which saw Denly stumped by Tim Ambrose off the bowling of Jeetan Patal who took a second wicket when he trapped Malan, who had made 37, lbw.

Robson continued making his century from128 balls in 155 mins and was 136 not out when rain stopped play witn Middlesex on 280-3 after 72.5 overs and play was abandoned for the day.
