Eight British riders will feature in the Tour De France which starts on Saturday.

The line up of Brits includes the defending champion Chris Froome and the winner of the most stages in the race - Mark Cavendish along with Geraint Thomas of Team Sky, Adam Yates of Orica-GreenEdge, Steve Cummings of (Dimension Data), Daniel McLay (Fortuneo Vital Concept) and Team Sky's Ian Stannard and Luke.

The 31 year old Chris Froome goes into the race as the defending champion and has been tipped to do well yet again following his victory in the Critérium du Dauphiné.

Two wins in this race could see Mark Cavendish beat Bernard Hinault's record of 28 stage victories in the Tour De France whilst Thomas will be looking at a place in the top ten and will lead Team Sky if anything happens to his team's leader.

Steve Cummings rode away to victory on stage fourteen of the race last year and has again proved this year with stage wins in the Critérium du Dauphiné, Tirreno-Adriatico and Tour of the Basque Country, that he is in form.

Ian Stannard, a former British champion will be again taking some big turns on the front for Team Sky and will work along side Luke Rowe to help push Froome and Thomas up the General Classification.

Daniel McLay makes his debut in the Tour and the rider from Leicester has said that he will be going for the sprints to try and beat the likes of Cavendish and Marcel Kittel.

Adam Yates from Bury, will compete for Orica GreenEdge again and this climber is looking to do well on the mountain stages.
