Reijnen Wins Tour Of Utah Stage Five

Trek Segafredo's Kiel Reijnen has won the fifth stage of the Tour Of Utah.

Lachlan Morton was still in the lead for this fifth stage from Antelope Island State Park to Bountiful.

Ten riders got away and those in the break were able to take a lead of 4.45 with Simon Pellaud of IAM Cycling taking the first sprint.

Onto the North Ogden Divide and the gap was down to 4.11 as Daniel Eaton of UnitedHealthCare took the points on the category two climb.

The second sprint was taken by Logan Owen of Aexeon with Bryan Vergara of Team Jamis taking the next climb.

Into Centreville and the lead was down to 1.45, so Julian Bernard went off the front and took the points on the next category three climb ahead of Ewen Huffman and Alexander Cataford.

Bernard took the bell with 14.7kms to go and a five second lead of Eaton, Cataford, Huffman and Chris Jones but Bernard was caught with the peloton on the final climb.

Matt Busche took over, taking a 25 second lead with 11.6kms to go but was shut down and it was British rider Tao Geohagen-Hart, Irishman Eddie Dunbar, Janier Acevedo and Darwin Atapuma of BMC led going into the final ten kilometres with Acevedo took the points on the final climb before they too were pulled back by the peloton led by the race leader.

All the favourites were on the front with four kilometres to go. Joey Rosskopf tried to attack but he was quickly caught.

The finish came down to a sprint and it was Kiel Reijnen of Trek Segafredo, who took the win in 4.22.37 after Rosskopf had started the sprint early ahead of British rider Tao Geohagen Hart of Aexeon and Alex Howes of Cannondale in third with Talansky fourth and Danny Jaramilo in fifth.
