Rain for most of the day meant that England's One Day International against Australia at Edgbaston was abandoned with no result.

Only 15.1 overs were possible and in that time, England had Michael Carberry run out by McKay for a single, Kevin Pieterson out for six after being caught by Bailey and Joe Root caught and bowled by Voges after making twelve.

Jon Trott was unbeaten on 28 from 41 balls with Eoin Morgan out for five before the rain came down and play was abandoned around 7pm.
