Nicola Ruffoni (Bardiani-CSF) has won the Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli in Italy.

Mark Cavendish started this 197km UCI European Tour race which started and finished in Monteveglio but was forced to abandon due to illness, as a seven man break featuring Eiking, Koishi, Rubio, Nardin, Ershov, Hupond & Ruscetta got clear.

This break was 3.15 head after 25kms and got to a maximum of 4.10 before the lead was down to 2.30 after 105kms and at 1,40 with 50kms left.

Rubio of Caja Rural and Nardin of Androni split the break and went away with a lead of 55 seconds over the peloton but with thirty kilometres to go, the peloton had them and everyone was back together.

Thirty five riders including Adam Yates of Orica Bike Exchange were ledt in the race with 13kms left and it was coming down to a bunch sprint.

That happened and it was Nicola Ruffoni (Bardiani-CSF) who won ahead of Filippo Pozzato (Wilier-Southeast) and Jens Keukeleire (Orica-BikeExchange).
