Nibali Wins The Giro D'Italia

Vincenzo Nibali has won the 99th Giro D'Italia.

Nibali was 52 seconds clear of Esteban Chaves going in to the final 21st stage from Cunego to Turin on a wet day.

A number of crashes meant that the race was neutralised but there was still a sprint for the line which saw Giacomo Nizzolo take the stage win in a time of 3.48.18 ahead of Niklas Arndt and Matteo Trentin.

Nizzolo was later disqualied and the stage was awarded to Arndt of Giant Alpecin.

Vincenzo Nibali finished safely and after producing the goods on stages 19 and twenty, the Italian won the race.
