New La Méditerranéenne Stage Race Announced

The route for the new La Méditerranéenne stage race has been announced.

Replacing the Tour of the Mediterranean which ran from 1974 to 2014 and had Britain's Steve Cummings as its last winner, the four stage race will be held in three countries.

According to the sportimagen.com website, the first stage on February 11 will be held in the small Catalan town of Banyoles and will be a seven kilometre team time trial.

The race will move into France with a 220km stage from Banyuls sur Mer to Beziers and a third stage which is over two hundred kilometres and from Cadolive to Pegomas.

The fourth and final stage on February 14th takes place in Italy, starting and finishing in Bordighera and is 130kms long.
