British rider Dan McLay is aiming for victory in today's Paris-Bourges race.
The Fortuneo Vital Concept sprinter, who hails from Leicester, will ride today's race and the Paris-Tours race, before heading off to part of the Great Britain team at the World Championships in Qatar.
McLay told his team: "I had riden a number of races late August early September and recently have returned from training to better prepare my timelines with the team and the world championship.
"I want to go for the win on Thursday as it would close the 2016 season in a beautiful way.
"I will also make use of these races (Paris-Bourges and Paris-Tours) to prepare the World Championship in Qatar.
"I do not know yet exactly what my role but I hope it is a role that my legs meet in the final kilometres. "
