Mark Cavendish has won the Tour Of Qatar.

Stage Five with Mark Cavendish back in the leader's golden jersey was from the sand dunes at the Sealine Beach Resort to the Doha Corniche and was a stage which was 114kms long.

Steven Tronent, Jesse Sergent and Tim Declerq got in a break which avoided a crash that forced Yukiya Ashiro to abandon.

Their lead went out to 3.55 before Sergent took the first sprint. The gap had dropped to 1.30 but was back up to 1.52 with 35kms left.

The trio were caught with ten kilometres to go and a sprint ensued with Mark Cavendish taking on Alexander Kristoff who took the victory in a photo finish ahead of Cavendih, followed by Roy Jans, Hutarovich, Modolo, Sam Bennett, Hofland, Boasson-Hagen, Looij and Canola.

That second place was enough to give Mark Cavenish of Dimension Data the overall victory by five seconds from Kristoff and eight seconds from Greg Van Avermaet.

Kristoff took home the Silver Jersey with Soren Kragh Andersen the white young riders jersey and BMC the team prize.
