Etixx Quick Step's Marcel Kittel has won Stage 3A of the Three Days Of De Panne race.

This morning's stage was a 111km stage which started and finished in De Panne and saw Alexander Kristoff with a five second lead.

Lars Bak, Fonzi, Steels, Boev, Pichot and Hofstetter formed the break and were 1.12 ahead with 61kms to go.

Thirty kilometres later and that gap was down to less than a minute and fourteen seconds going into the final ten kilometres.

Kristian House and Laurent De Vreese went down after being pushed over with seven kilometres left and eight hundred metres later, the break was caught.

Cofidis sent a man in Van Bilsen up the road  and he took a twelve second lead but was caught with two kilometres remaining and Etixx Quick Step took to the front.

Into the final turn and there was a big crash but it did not stop Marcel Kittel of Ettixx Quick Step taking the win in 2.27.03 ahead of Phil Bauhaus and Alexander Kristoff.

"The stage was flat but it was all about the finish. It was all about the finish and my team got me where I needed to be.

"I hpoe that all those who crashed are ok.

"I was in a superb position and went for it.

"I think the organisers should look at some of the corners for the future to make it safer."

Alexander Kristoff leads going into the final stage by seven seconds.
