Coventry's official Lady Godiva Pru Poretta, has been appointed an MBE in the New years Honours List. She has held the honorary post since 1982.
Pru Poretta was a competion winner in which she recreated the role of Lady Godiva at Coventry Carnival 27 years ago. She has ridden a horse through the city centre every year since and in the process has raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Pru Poretta said she was "shocked and humbled" to receive the honour, for services to the city's community and tourism services.
