Katusha's Alexander Kristoff has won the Eschborn Frankfurt race in Germany.

A 203km race from Eschborn to Frankfurt saw a big group go clear before being caught and six riders in Honig, Jauregui, Rodriguez, Thurau, Mamykin and Nibali taking over and building a lead of two minutes with 110kms left.

The gap started to come down and with sixty kilometres to go, the escapers had been caught.

Forty kilometres later and David De La Cruz was ahead with Owsian and Van Hecke chasing him.

However, they were hunted down and the sprint trains moved their riders to the front.

Katusha had got Alexander Kristoff in to a great position and he took the win in 5.00.03 ahead of Maxi Richeze of Etixx Quick Step and Irishman Sam Bennett of Bora Argon 18, followed by Vanspeybrouck,  Lampaert, Devriendt, Franczak and Lammertink.
