Orica GreenEdge's Adam Yates has said that he is reaping the benefits of the boom in British cycling,

Yates from Bury told CNS Sport at the Tour De France press conference in Saint Lo: "I'm reading the benefits of the boom in British cycling.

"I suppose it started in Beijing but it is good to be a part of it.

" Hopefully, British Cycling will get stronger and stronger as the years go by."

He said that he was not targeting any stages of the Grand Boucle in particular but said: I have come into the race with the same objectives as last year.

"Last year, I had a couple of top tens and I will be trying to take that one step higher this time."
