Humiliating Defeat For Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Cricket Club crashed to a humiliating innings and 139 run defeat to Yorkshire at Edgbaston.

Yorkshiire resumed on 318-7 and had Liam Plunkett caught behind by Tim Ambrose off the bowling of Chris Wright and Jeetan Patal cleaned up with the final two wickets of Sidebottom and Patterson to take 5-56 and Yorks all out for 407.

Warwicks were in trouble from the start with Varun Chopra out first ball of the innings.

Will Porterfield went without scoring and when Darren Maddy went for five to give Tim Bresnan a second wicket, Warwicks were 9-3.

Jim Troughton and Tim Ambrose moved the score on to 40 before Ambrose was caught by Lyth after making twenty two.

Troughton went on to make 37 but when he became Sidebottom's third vicim, after Woakes had been removed by Patterson, Warwicks were deep in trouble.

Clarke made 15, Patal six, Wright eleven but when Tom Milnes were was caught by Lyth off the bowling of Tim Bresnan, Warwicks were all out for an embarrassing 140 and suffered an innings and 139 runs defeat.
